ACOFP student members have the opportunity to apply for awards and scholarships to provide monetary assistance to help defray medical school expenses.  These awards and scholarships aim to acknowledge and award exceptional leadership within the ACOFP.

AWARDS

  • ACOFP & Auxiliary to the ACOFP Student of the Year Award in Memory of Marie Wiseman
    Applications will be available soon.

    This $5,000 award recognizes an osteopathic medical student who demonstrates excellence, leadership, and community service in family medicine. Nominations are solicited from the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, with the final selection made by the Auxiliary to the ACOFP and the Board of Governors.

  • Namey/Burnett Prevention Medicine Writing Award
    Application Deadline: January 15, 2018

    The award honors the best preventive medicine papers submitted by osteopathic medical students, interns and residents. Nominations are solicited from colleges of osteopathic medicine and the general student membership, with the final selection made by the ACOFP Public Health and Wellness Committee.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships for eligible osteopathic medical school students are supported by the Auxiliary to the ACOFP.

  • The Emerging Osteopathic Leader Scholarship 
    Awarded to emerging osteopathic student leaders in family medicine and the ACOFP. It offers two osteopathic medical students with $2,500 to help defray medical school and/or personal expenses and to affirm the recipients’ interest in association leadership.

  • The Osteopathic Family Medicine Student Scholarship
    Applications will be available soon.

    The Student Scholarship is a way for the ACOFP Auxiliary Executive Board to identify medical students who have an interest in family medicine and the ACOFP.  It offers 20 osteopathic medical students with $1,000 to help defray medical school and/or personal expenses.
